Gaza Death Toll Reaches 72,549 as Casualties Continue to Rise

Gaza Herald – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported that the cumulative death toll from the Israeli military genocide has risen to 72,549 victims and 172,274 injured since 7 October 2023.

According to the ministry’s latest daily update, hospitals across Gaza received 8 killed over the past 48 hours, including 7 newly killed civilians and 1 body recovered from beneath the rubble, in addition to 24 injuries resulting from continued attacks by Israeli occupation forces.

The report highlighted that several victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, while emergency and civil defense teams are unable to reach them due to ongoing field conditions. This situation indicates that the actual death toll is likely higher than the officially recorded figures, as search and rescue operations remain severely constrained.

It further stated that since the ceasefire began on 10 October, the recorded toll has reached 773 killed, 2,171 injured, and 761 recovered bodies. In addition, 196 fatalities were added to the cumulative total after verification and official documentation by the relevant committee since early April, reflecting continued updates to casualty records amid ongoing difficulties in data collection and recovery operations.
