Israeli Ceasefire Violations Kill Two People in Gaza as Death Toll Rises to 72,247

Gaza Herald – Two Palestinians were killed in Gaza as Israeli forces continued daily ceasefire violations, pushing the total death toll since the truce took effect in October 2025 to 671, with 1,779 injured, according to local health data.

One man was killed and several others injured after an Israeli strike targeted a group of civilians near Shaker Harb Mall in al-Saftawi area, north of Gaza City. Emergency crews recovered one body and five wounded, including two in critical condition.

Earlier in the day, another Palestinian, identified as Baha Mahmoud Jadallah al-Qarra, was shot dead by Israeli forces near a medical complex in Khan Younis, while a child was injured by gunfire in Beit Lahia in the north.

The latest incidents came a day after an Israeli airstrike killed nine police officers in central Gaza, underscoring a pattern of near-daily strikes despite the ceasefire agreement.

Since October 11, 2025, Israeli attacks have continued through airstrikes, artillery shelling, and live fire across the Gaza Strip. Children, women, and elderly people accounted for nearly 45.5% of the fatalities, highlighting the heavy civilian toll.

The total number of Palestinians killed since the start of the war on October 7, 2023 has risen to 72,247, with 171,878 injured, amid ongoing humanitarian collapse and widespread destruction across the enclave.
