Israeli Airstrikes and Shelling Hit Gaza as Ceasefire Violations Continue

Gaza Herald – Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling struck multiple areas across the Gaza Strip early Tuesday, marking continued violations of the ceasefire that has been in place for more than five months. The attacks targeted eastern Khan Younis, central Gaza, and neighborhoods in Gaza City.

Medical sources reported that a 40-year-old Palestinian, Imad Felfel, was killed after Israeli forces targeted a group of civilians on Kashko Street in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City. Several others were injured in separate incidents across the enclave.

In southern Gaza, two civilians, including a woman in her forties, were wounded in Khan Younis. Israeli warplanes also carried out an airstrike east of the city before dawn, while tanks opened fire west of Rafah near the Egyptian border.

Artillery units shelled the eastern areas of Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza and intensified bombardment east of Gaza City. Israeli naval vessels simultaneously fired intermittently toward the Gaza coastline, according to local reports.

Health officials said hospitals in Gaza received seven bodies and 17 injured people over the past 24 hours. The figures include casualties from recent strikes as well as victims recovered from rubble in previously targeted areas.

Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, at least 648 Palestinians have been killed and 1,728 injured, with 755 bodies recovered from destroyed buildings. Overall, the death toll from the Israeli war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,133 people, while more than 171,000 others have been wounded, according to health authorities in the enclave.
