Limited Number of Patients Evacuated from Gaza as Rafah Crossing Remains Restricted

Gaza Herald- Medical sources said that 44 patients and their companions earlier departed from the Palestinian Red Crescent field hospital in Khan Younis through the Rafah land crossing, in preparation for travel to Egypt to receive medical treatment.

The evacuation is being carried out under the supervision of the World Health Organization, in line with the ceasefire agreement mechanism, which allows for the departure of 50 patients, each accompanied by three companions. Ambulances and buses have been stationed near the crossing to transport the injured.

At the Rafah crossing, regarded as the only lifeline to safety, thousands of wounded people remain on waiting lists in hopes of securing permission to travel abroad for treatment, as expectations grow that the number of medical evacuations will increase in the coming period.
