Gaza Herald – Monir Al-Bursh, Director-General of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, raised serious doubts about Israel’s record-breaking organ donation figures, questioning the sources of the large number of kidneys reported. He noted that the same Israeli authorities that have long withheld Palestinian bodies now promote unprecedented donation statistics as a humanitarian achievement.
Al-Bursh highlighted cases in which bodies returned to families after long detention were missing organs, without autopsy reports or accountability. He stressed that these incidents are documented by medical professionals and verified cases of bodies returned incomplete.
He clarified that Palestinians do not oppose medicine or organ donation but reject turning humanitarian values into propaganda, exploiting Palestinian bodies, alive or deceased, for internationally promoted achievements while the truth remains hidden.
Al-Bursh called for an independent international investigation to determine the sources of these organs, identify those responsible, and hold accountable anyone who enabled or ignored these practices, rather than focusing on new record-breaking statistics.
