Gaza Faces Deadliest Cold Night as Winter Hits Hard

Gaza Herald – Gaza endured its harshest temperatures of the year, exposing the extreme suffering of residents trapped in makeshift shelters that offer little protection from the cold.

Thin tents and temporary structures shook with every gust of wind, while icy air and rain penetrated the flimsy coverings, leaving floors and ground beneath chilling bodies through the night.

Families struggled to stay warm with minimal blankets and clothing, sharing what little they had to shield children from freezing temperatures. Sleep was fragmented, and exhaustion and fear were constant companions.

The absence of electricity, fuel, or heating forced people to light small fires indoors, risking smoke inhalation in a desperate attempt to survive the night.

By morning, the toll of the extreme cold was evident in exhausted, pale residents, highlighting the urgent need for humanitarian relief and winter support in Gaza.
