Gaza Herald – Israeli forces continued to violate the ceasefire in Gaza for the 83rd consecutive day, as artillery shelling and heavy gunfire targeted eastern areas of the Strip, according to local sources.
Witnesses said Israeli tanks opened intense fire east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, while artillery units shelled the same areas from the early morning hours, spreading fear among civilians already living under constant threat.
Since October, Israeli ceasefire violations have killed at least 422 Palestinians and wounded 1,153 others, underscoring what Palestinians describe as a truce in name only, marked by daily attacks and home demolitions.
The ceasefire had formally ended Israel’s two-year-long war of annihilation that began in October 2023, a campaign that killed more than 71,000 Palestinians, injured over 171,000, and left Gaza in ruins, with the United Nations estimating reconstruction costs at nearly $70 billion.
