MSF Flags Alarming Israeli Restrictions on Gaza and West Bank Operations

Gaza Herald- Amid intensifying humanitarian challenges in the occupied Palestinian territories, Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières – MSF) has voiced deep concern over new Israeli restrictions that could significantly disrupt its medical operations in both Gaza and the West Bank.

In an official statement, the international medical NGO confirmed it is awaiting the renewal of its registration to operate in these areas. However, the process has now been linked to a set of Israeli conditions that MSF says “lack clear criteria and transparency.”

The organization strongly rejected recent Israeli allegations suggesting that some of its staff may be affiliated with armed groups. MSF warned that “such unsubstantiated claims endanger humanitarian workers” and emphasized its strict commitment to providing impartial medical care. It stressed that these accusations not only threaten its mission but also risk cutting off essential healthcare for Palestinians in need.

This development comes against the backdrop of Israel’s continued control over access to the occupied territories, where international aid groups already face mounting administrative obstacles, travel limitations, and scrutiny. MSF has long been one of the few organizations delivering life-saving medical support in Gaza, amid repeated military escalations and a collapsing health system.

MSF has called on Israeli authorities to uphold their international obligations, protect humanitarian personnel, and guarantee unimpeded access to medical care in conflict settings.
