Gaza: 220 Days of Border Closures in 2025, Aid Blocked, Crisis Deepens

Gaza Herald- The head of Gaza’s Government Media Office, Ismail Al-Thawabta, has revealed alarming figures highlighting Israel’s ongoing blockade of Gaza throughout 2025, which officials describe as a deliberate policy of siege and deprivation.

According to Al-Thawabta, Israeli authorities kept Gaza’s border crossings closed for a total of 220 days this year, severely restricting the entry of humanitarian aid. As a result, nearly 132,000 aid trucks were denied access, depriving over 2 million Palestinians of vital food, medicine, and relief supplies.

Fuel entry was also throttled. Out of 18,250 scheduled fuel trucks, including diesel and cooking gas, only 1,460 were permitted entry. This fuel scarcity has crippled hospitals, water stations, and food services across the besieged territory.

In addition, Israeli military operations reportedly targeted over 40 community kitchens and 50 aid distribution centers, directly undermining relief efforts in an area already experiencing famine-like conditions.

Tragically, at least 500 humanitarian workers and volunteers have been killed this year, further compounding the deepening humanitarian catastrophe.

Palestinian officials are urgently calling for international intervention to lift the blockade and guarantee the unrestricted delivery of aid to civilians in Gaza.
