Gaza Herald – Israeli occupation forces carried out massive demolitions of civilian homes in eastern Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, violating the ceasefire agreed with Hamas on October 10. Local sources reported that several residential buildings were completely destroyed, deepening displaced families’ suffering.
Israeli vehicles opened heavy fire across southern parts of the city, while low-flying Israeli drones patrolled the skies above Khan Yunis, creating a climate of terror among civilians. Artillery strikes and continued shooting from armored vehicles targeted areas near Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
The attacks form part of ongoing Israeli breaches of the ceasefire, which has already seen 405 Palestinians killed and 1,115 wounded since its implementation in October. Civilians remain at constant risk as Israel continues its pattern of aggression, undermining any semblance of security for local communities.
Humanitarian sources warned that the destruction of homes, coupled with restrictions on reconstruction and aid, exacerbates the long-term crisis in Gaza. The UN estimates the war’s total toll at over 70,000 killed and 171,000 injuries, with reconstruction costs reaching approximately $70 billion.
