ICRC Transfers Five Newly Released Palestinian Detainees to Gaza

Gaza Herald– On Sunday, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) facilitated the transfer of five Palestinian detainees, recently released from Israeli prisons, through the Karm Abu Salem crossing to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, Gaza Strip.

The organization also assisted in reestablishing contact between the detainees and their families, helping to reunite them.

The ICRC stressed that its access to Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons remains suspended, calling for immediate access to the full list of detainees.

The Committee said it is continuing talks with Israeli authorities to restore visits to all Palestinian detainees, emphasizing that international humanitarian law requires humane treatment, adequate detention conditions, and the right for detainees to maintain contact with their families.

As a neutral intermediary, the ICRC remains committed to helping secure further releases, reunite detainees with their families, and support vital humanitarian work.
