Thousands Still Buried Beneath Gaza’s Rubble

Gaza Herald – Thousands of Palestinians remain trapped beneath the rubble across Gaza, with only a small number of bodies recovered in recent weeks. Families who fled Israeli bombardment were able to locate some loved ones, but nearly 10,000 people are still missing under destroyed homes and neighborhoods.

With no heavy machinery allowed for Palestinian rescue teams, recovery efforts rely on manual tools and even bare hands. Gaza’s Civil Defense has repeatedly warned it lacks the essential equipment needed to clear massive debris and give families the closure of a dignified burial.

Meanwhile, bulldozers and engineering equipment in Gaza continue to be restricted for Israeli operations, used exclusively in searches related to Israeli captives, not for lifting the ruins under which thousands of Palestinians remain buried from the genocide.

Israel’s blockade on recovery machinery has turned entire neighborhoods into mass graves, deepening one of the most devastating humanitarian crises in Gaza’s modern history.
