Gaza Herald – UNRWA’s media advisor Adnan Abu Hasna says 95% of Gaza’s population now relies completely on humanitarian aid for survival, warning that despite the halt in large-scale bombing, there has been no improvement whatsoever in malnutrition or the rapid spread of disease. He stressed that the situation remains catastrophic under Israel’s ongoing blockade.
UNRWA confirms it is fully prepared to deliver aid into Gaza, but Israeli restrictions continue to block the entry of life-saving supplies, even as more than 6,000 trucks loaded with food, tents, and clothing have been stranded at the crossings for weeks. These supplies would cover Gaza’s needs for three months.
Inside the Strip, tents have deteriorated to the point of collapse. Thousands of displaced families are living under torn fabric and plastic sheets that provide no real shelter, leaving children and the elderly exposed to lethal cold, rain, and disease as winter approaches.
UNRWA warns that the severe shortage of fuel, spare parts, and heavy machinery needed to clear rubble has paralyzed relief operations and basic services. The agency calls for the immediate opening of crossings and unrestricted entry of aid, saying that continued blockade will push Gaza’s humanitarian catastrophe to “unprecedented, unthinkable levels.”
