IDF Chief of Staff Threatens to Seize More Territory in Gaza

Gaza Herald- Israeli Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi has called on the army to prepare for expanded military operations inside the Gaza Strip, including the potential occupation of territory beyond current ceasefire demarcations, Times of Israel has reported on Monday.

In his remarks, Halevi emphasized that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) must be ready for a wide-scale offensive and should be prepared to take control of areas beyond the so-called “yellow line,” a reference to the zones currently designated under the ceasefire arrangement.

The Israeli official noted that the military is actively working to prevent Hamas from regrouping by securing strategic terrain and controlling vital access points into Gaza.

He also stressed that Hamas rule would not be permitted to continue on the other side of the border, even if dismantling its presence takes an extended period of time.

The statements come as Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement that ended a two-year genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, leaving hundreds of victims.
