Gaza Herald — More than 10,000 Palestinians are still missing and are believed to be trapped beneath the rubble across Gaza, according to Ahmed Radwan, the media officer for the Palestinian Civil Defence in Rafah. Speaking to Al-Aqsa TV, Radwan described an increasingly desperate effort to locate families who have vanished during the months of Israeli bombardment.
Thousands Missing as Rescuers Struggle
Radwan revealed that, even after the ceasefire took effect this month, over 200 Palestinians have been killed and roughly 600 others injured. Rescue teams are working with extremely limited tools, and in many areas, they cannot reach trapped victims at all. The scarcity of essential medical supplies and professional rescue equipment has left countless people without assistance.
Severe Shortages Halt Recovery Efforts
Civil defence teams continue to warn that without heavy machinery , including excavators and specialized rescue equipment , they cannot retrieve bodies buried beneath collapsed homes and destroyed neighborhoods. Many families fear the worst as days pass with no news of their missing loved ones.
Rescue Workers Under Fire
Radwan also stated that Israeli forces have “deliberately” targeted civil defence crews, an act he described as a clear violation of international law. These attacks have further obstructed rescue operations, leaving both survivors and emergency workers exposed and unprotected.
