Israel’s Siege Threatens Thousands of Patients in Gaza

Gaza Herald – Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, warned that Israel’s continued closure of crossings is fueling a medical catastrophe across the Strip.

According to Abu Salmiya, over 2,000 amputee patients and more than 5,000 cancer patients urgently need treatment outside Gaza, while chronic disease and kidney patients are dying due to lack of medical supplies.

He also reported that over 3,000 people have lost their sight and more than 1,000 their hearing, requiring immediate surgical intervention.

“Israel continues its genocidal war against the sick by blocking crossings and preventing essential medical equipment from entering Gaza,” Abu Salmiya said, highlighting the life-or-death consequences of the siege.
