Gaza Herald – At least four Palestinians, including children, were killed and several others injured after Israeli forces bombed a tent sheltering displaced families behind the College Towers area northwest of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
What was meant to be a temporary refuge for families who had already lost their homes turned into a site of bloodshed, as yet another Israeli strike tore through a gathering of the most vulnerable.
This attack comes in an area that Israel itself had previously labeled as a so-called “safe zone,” a claim that has proven hollow time and again.
Displaced Palestinians, ordered south under Israeli evacuation directives, have found no safety in these areas. Instead, “safe zones” have repeatedly become targets, with dozens of massacres documented against civilians who followed evacuation orders only to be bombed where they sought shelter.
