Gaza Herald – Palestinian photojournalist Rasmi Jihad Salem, working for Al-Manara Media Company, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza, bringing the total number of journalists killed since the start of Israel’s war on the enclave to 248.
The Gaza Government Media Office denounced what it called Israeli forces’ systematic targeting and killing of journalists, and it held Israel and its allies, including the US, UK, Germany, and France, accountable for the ongoing atrocities.
Officials called on international unions, press freedom organizations, and journalistic associations around the world to act, bring Israel to justice in international courts, and apply strong pressure to put an end to the genocide.
Salem’s killing serves as a reminder of the fatal toll that journalists in Gaza must endure while reporting under constant bombardment; many of them are among the dead and injured.
