Aid Blocked, Children Die: Gaza Gets a Fraction of What’s Needed

Gaza Herald– As famine intensifies across the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian people are once again left to face starvation and death while global powers offer little more than empty promises. Despite claims by the United Nations that Israel has “eased some restrictions,” authorities in Gaza reported that only 73 aid trucks were allowed into the besieged territory on Monday a far cry from the 600 trucks needed daily to prevent further catastrophe.

While UN relief chief Tom Fletcher stated that more than 100 trucks were “collected,” Palestinian officials on the ground painted a starkly different picture, accusing Israel of deliberately restricting aid and the international community of participating in the siege through deception and silence.

“What is happening is a farce in which the international community is complicit,” read a statement from the Government Media Office in Gaza. “Despite the desperate humanitarian need, only 73 trucks were allowed in, and many were looted or obstructed under the eyes of Israeli drones and occupation forces.”

The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed six more deaths from malnutrition in the last 24 hours, including two children, raising the official death toll from starvation to 133, among them 87 children all victims of a man-made famine inflicted by Israel’s ongoing blockade.

The Media Office described the situation as a deliberate campaign of extermination, targeting all 2.4 million Palestinians in Gaza, including 1.1 million children, through the weaponization of food, water, and aid.

Meanwhile, so-called humanitarian “airdrop” efforts have been widely dismissed as meaningless gestures. Officials noted that the total volume of aid dropped from the air did not match the content of even two trucks. Worse still, much of it landed in areas labeled by Israel as “red zones” combat zones civilians are forbidden to enter, rendering the aid completely inaccessible.

“These drops are a media spectacle, not a humanitarian solution,” the statement continued. “They serve only to shield the occupying power and its allies from criticism, while the Palestinian people continue to die of hunger.”

The Media Office accused Israel and its partners chiefly the United States of orchestrating a deadly blockade while manipulating international public opinion through staged acts of relief. It stressed that the only real solution lies in the immediate, unconditional opening of all Gaza crossings, the lifting of the inhumane siege, and the entry of food, water, and infant formula before more lives are lost.

“The famine is no longer looming it is here. It is intensifying, expanding, and becoming more savage by the day,” the statement warned. “This is a crime in progress, and the world is failing to stop it.”

The Office held Israel and its international enablers fully responsible for the starvation and suffering, and called on Arab and Islamic countries, as well as free people around the world, to break the silence and take action. It also urged the media to stop spreading false narratives and confront the reality: a genocidal siege, deliberately maintained, and globally tolerated.
