Gaza Herald – Gaza’s Civil Defense teams have recovered 233 Palestinian bodies and remains from beneath the rubble of 20 homes destroyed by Israeli bombardment in Gaza Governorate, with 407 Palestinians believed to have been buried under the ruins.
The recovered victims include 73 children and 106 women, as families continue to search for loved ones lost beneath the devastation of Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
Rescue crews have spent 51 consecutive days working at the site, completing 381 hours of recovery operations during the second phase of the effort. Despite the passage of weeks, large numbers of victims remain trapped beneath the destroyed homes.
Gaza Civil Defense said Israeli restrictions on heavy machinery and essential rescue equipment are severely slowing the recovery work. Without the equipment needed to safely clear massive amounts of rubble, rescuers face enormous obstacles in reaching those still buried.
The continued recovery efforts expose the human cost left behind by Israel’s destruction of Palestinian homes across Gaza. For families, the operation is not simply about clearing rubble; it is about finding their loved ones and giving them a final burial.
With dozens of children and women already among those recovered, the scale of the remains underscores the devastating civilian toll of Israel’s genocide on Gaza. Rescue teams continue working despite limited resources, while families wait for answers beneath the ruins of their homes.
