Sic Gaza Detainees Released After Months in Israeli Detention

Gaza Herald – Israeli authorities released six Palestinian prisoners from Gaza on Sunday after detaining them at different locations across the besieged Strip during the Gaza genocide.

The six were transferred by the International Committee of the Red Cross to Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, where they received adequate medical care.

The Red Cross said it facilitated their transfer from the Kerem Abu Salem crossing to the hospital.

Israel has continued to release limited numbers of Palestinian detainees from Gaza, with released prisoners reporting severe exhaustion and, in some cases, signs of ill-treatment after enduring harsh detention conditions.

Palestinian prisoner institutions estimate that around 9,400 Palestinians were held in Israeli prisons and detention facilities as of July 2026, including approximately 1,320 detainees from Gaza classified by Israel under its so-called “unlawful combatant” designation.

The figure does not include thousands of Palestinians held in military and undisclosed detention facilities, including Sde Teiman, where information about detainees’ conditions and whereabouts remains severely limited.
