Gaza Herald – Civil defense and rescue teams in Gaza recovered the remains of 99 Palestinians on Monday from beneath the rubble of a bombarded residential building belonging to the Abu Sharia and Al-Hasayna families in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City, after search operations carried out under difficult humanitarian and field conditions.
According to rescue teams, the house had been struck in multiple Israeli airstrikes during the genocide, including attacks in October 2023 and June 2025, leaving dozens of Palestinians killed and many others trapped beneath the collapsed structure.
Rescue officials said recovery efforts remain extremely challenging due to the scale of destruction, as well as severe shortages of heavy machinery, specialized equipment, and operational resources needed to reach those still buried beneath the debris.
Authorities added that thousands of Palestinian victims are believed to remain under the rubble of destroyed buildings across Gaza, with many sites still inaccessible because of extensive damage and ongoing operational constraints.
Official estimates indicate that around 8,000 bodies are still believed to be buried beneath collapsed structures throughout the Gaza Strip, while rescue crews continue recovery efforts despite limited capabilities and the urgent need for additional equipment.
