Among them was the martyr Yahya Nisman, who achieved an exceptional average of 96.6% just days after he and several family members were killed in an Israeli bombardment.
Yahya sat for his final exams under the catastrophic and unprecedented conditions imposed by the war, holding fast to his dream of securing a grade that would allow him to pursue his university education. Tragically, an Israeli airstrike targeting his family’s location roughly a week before the results were announced cut his life short, robbing him of a moment he had long awaited.
Words from Friends: Joy Overwhelmed by Sorrow
As the results were made public, the social media pages of his friends and classmates transformed into spaces of mourning and immense pride, where they shared his picture and score while honoring his dedication and character.
His classmate, Mahmoud Nasrallah, wrote:
“Congratulations on your success, Yahya. You were waiting for this day with eager anticipation to kiss your mother’s forehead and celebrate with us. Today, we congratulate you on your success in this world and your martyrdom in the hereafter.”
His relative and friend, Mohammed Nisman, shared:

His peer, Ahmed Al-Aila, expressed:
“My beloved Yahya, you always spoke to me about your anxiety regarding the exams, and today your result is out and you are higher than us all. May your acceptance in the heavens be blessed, O purest heart.”
Another classmate, Ibrahim Mahmoud, added:
“By God, the joy is incomplete. My friends went out to celebrate, while my eyes were searching for Yahya. The score he achieved today fills us with both pride and heartbreak.”

This year’s Tawjihi results were announced amid severe humanitarian conditions, with Gaza losing countless students and teachers to the war, while others were barred from taking their exams due to martyrdom, injury, or forced displacement.
Yet, the name of the martyr Yahya Nisman remained etched among the top students, standing as a poignant reminder that while the bodies of Gaza’s youth may be taken, their dreams and steadfast pursuit of knowledge endure to the very last moment.
