Israeli Forces and Settlers Escalate Attacks on Olive Harvesters Across Seven West Bank Provinces

Gaza Herald – Israeli occupation forces and settlers escalated attacks against Palestinian farmers and their agricultural lands during the olive harvesting season. The incidents occurred over a twelve-hour period, resulting in twenty-three recorded violations across seven governorates in the West Bank.

The violations included live ammunition fire, physical assaults, arrests, prevention of harvesting, theft of crops and equipment, arson, and land bulldozing. These acts took place between six in the morning and six in the evening.

Nablus province witnessed ten incidents, while Ramallah and Al-Bireh recorded six cases. Two occurrences were reported in both Hebron and Salfeet. Single incidents were documented in Qalqilya, Jenin, and Bethlehem.

In Nablus, a farmer was shot in the hand with live ammunition while picking olives in the village of Asirin. Meanwhile, settlers set fire to agricultural lands in Barqa.

Occupation machinery also bulldozed fields planted with olive trees in the Rajmanat area within the town of Madma.

Settlers attacked harvesters near Jaloud School, firing bullets toward them. Subsequently, occupation troops entered the area and assaulted the farmers with physical beatings.

In Bethlehem, occupation forces arrested seventy-seven-year-old Fahima Issa Ghiyatha and several international solidarity activists in the Hibleh area of Nahalin village.

Among those detained was Brad Lander, a candidate for the US Congress. Occupation forces seized the harvested olive fruits from the site.

These actions coincide with intensified targeting of foreign solidarity participants supporting Palestinian farmers during the harvest season.

Repeated attempts have been made to obstruct farmers’ access to their lands and to confiscate their crops.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Body stated that the recorded events reflect an integration of direct attacks with military closures, arrests, and crop seizures.

The body warned that targeting solidarity workers and journalists undermines efforts to document violations and limit attacks on farmers and their property.
