Gaza Herald — Israeli army, working with Palestinian collaborators, is preparing a large-scale attack targeting Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, local sources told Gaza Herald.
According to the sources, preparations involve collaborator groups operating in Rafah, Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah, with Israeli intelligence coordination and air support. The reported plan includes the establishment of sleeper cells near hospitals and other vital civilian facilities ahead of coordinated attacks.
The sources said Israeli forces supervised the training of members of these groups at military bases, where they underwent exercises simulating large-scale assaults on civilian and vital facilities across the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian security forces have arrested several suspected collaborators accused of establishing and organising sleeper cells around vital facilities in Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah, according to the sources. The cells were reportedly tasked with preparing the ground for attacks, including one targeting Nasser Hospital.
The reported preparations have raised serious concerns over the safety of patients, medical workers and displaced Palestinians at the hospital.
Nasser Hospital remains one of the most important functioning medical facilities in southern Gaza, treating wounded and sick Palestinians amid severe pressure on Gaza’s devastated healthcare system.
Any attack on the hospital could further cripple already limited medical services in southern Gaza and place patients, healthcare workers and civilians sheltering in and around the facility at grave risk.
The reported plan has not been independently verified, and Israeli authorities have not publicly announced an operation targeting Nasser Hospital.
