Israel Escalates Ceasefire Breaches Across Gaza as Netanyahu Signals Wider Offensive

Gaza Herald – Israeli forces carried out fresh attacks across the Gaza Strip over the past hours, escalating violations of the ceasefire with airstrikes, artillery fire, live ammunition, and the demolition of civilian homes. The latest assaults targeted Rafah, Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah, Al-Maghazi, and Al-Bureij, underscoring a widening military campaign despite the truce.

In southern Gaza, Israeli forces blew up residential buildings east of Khan Younis, with explosions heard as far as the central areas of the Strip. Artillery shells and gunfire also struck eastern Al-Maghazi refugee camp, while areas east of the Al-Qastal Towers in Deir al-Balah, designated as a so-called “yellow zone”, came under direct fire. Israeli reconnaissance aircraft intensified surveillance over Al-Nuseirat refugee camp, signaling preparations for further operations.

These field violations coincided with an English-language statement issued by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he accused Hamas of breaching the ceasefire and violating a U.S-backed framework. Netanyahu threatened retaliation, further fueling fears of an expanded assault amid the collapse of political efforts to stabilize the truce.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, Israeli forces have killed more than 405 Palestinians and wounded 1,115 others since the ceasefire took effect on 10 October 2025. The ministry added that the cumulative toll since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza on 7 October 2023 has reached 70,937 killed and 171,192 injured, the majority civilians.

As military escalation and political brinkmanship converge, Gaza’s humanitarian crisis continues to deepen. Ongoing bombardment, home demolitions, and surveillance flights have left civilians trapped between relentless violence and the absence of any meaningful protection, reinforcing Palestinian fears that the ceasefire is rapidly unraveling.
