Israel’s Blockade Claims Eight More Lives in Gaza Through Starvation

Gaza Herald- The humanitarian situation in Gaza is worsening rapidly, with health authorities reporting a sharp rise in starvation-related deaths. According to Gaza’s health ministry, at least eight people, including three children, have recently died from hunger, bringing the total toll to more than 230 fatalities, over 100 of them children.

UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told reporters on Tuesday that malnutrition and hunger in Gaza have reached their highest levels since the conflict began. He warned that the amount of humanitarian aid entering the territory remains far below what is needed to meet basic needs.

Dujarric said aid operations are hampered by significant delays and other obstacles, with coordination efforts often taking hours due to unexpected permit requirements from Israeli authorities, costing precious time and further limiting the UN’s ability to deliver assistance at the necessary scale.

These deaths are the latest grim reminder of the catastrophic humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza, where Israel’s blockade and military onslaught have pushed an entire population to the brink of famine. With aid deliveries throttled and international warnings ignored, every delay in action costs more innocent lives many of them children in a tragedy the world has the power, yet not the will, to stop.
