Operations Resume at Al-Awda Hospital Following Service Suspension

Gaza Herald- Al-Awda Hospital in Al-Nuseirat refugee camp reported that it partially resumed operations after limited quantities of fuel entered Gaza through the World Health Organization.

According to hospital sources, the generators ran out of fuel, leaving all departments powerless except for the Emergency Department on backup batteries, while patient numbers and critical cases continue to rise.

Ahmed Muhanna, Director of Programs at Al-Awda Health and Community Association, said all hospital services are suspended because there is no indispensable fuel to run the generators.

He stated that only the Emergency, Maternity, and Pediatrics Departments were functioning, and the hospital administration had to rent a generator to provide basic services.

According to Muhanna, the hospital consumes 1,000–1,200 liters of diesel daily, but the current storage of 800 liters is insufficient to run all departments.

He called for urgent measures to pressure Israel to allow fuel entry, enabling hospitals in Gaza to fully resume operations.

Since October 11, the Gaza Strip has been facing a severe humanitarian crisis despite the truce, following two years of the Israeli war of extermination.

The ceasefire agreement permits 600 trucks a day, yet only 100–300 humanitarian aid trucks have been entering Gaza, as reported by the UN and relief organizations.
