Gaza Herald- As the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza deepens, the Hamas Movement has issued an urgent call for worldwide mobilization in support of the Palestinian people.
In a statement released on Friday, the Movement called for designating next Sunday as a national, Arab, Islamic, and International Day of Solidarity with Gaza, Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Palestinian prisoners, in response to the continued genocidal war and starvation campaign waged by Israel against more than two million civilians trapped in the besieged enclave.
Hamas urged free and conscious people across the globe to take to the streets and organize protests, vigils, and public demonstrations every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, demanding an end to the aggression, the blockade, and the weaponization of hunger. The Movement emphasized that the Palestinian people are enduring not just military bombardment, but a systematic campaign of extermination, where deprivation of food, medicine, and necessities is being deliberately used to break their resistance and spirit.
“Our people in Gaza continue to face a comprehensive genocide,” the statement read, “with starvation deployed as a brutal weapon of war. This siege aims not only to kill but to erase their very will to live.”
On Thursday, Hamas renewed its willingness to return to negotiations immediately, but on the condition that humanitarian aid is delivered to those in desperate need and that the famine imposed on Gaza is decisively brought to an end. The movement made clear that negotiations cannot be meaningful while Israel continues to deny food to the population and targets aid convoys.
“Talks held under conditions of hunger and slaughter are devoid of meaning and credibility,” Hamas stated, especially in light of Israel’s recent unilateral withdrawal from negotiations without presenting any justification.
The statement further warned that the man-made famine imposed by the Israeli occupation has reached catastrophic levels, threatening the lives of over two million Palestinians, many of whom are already suffering from acute malnutrition. Dozens of children have died from hunger, and thousands more are at imminent risk.
Hamas called on the international community, humanitarian organizations, and all concerned entities to act immediately to halt what it described as a ‘mass slaughter’ being carried out by the Israeli occupation, and to ensure the unconditional delivery of life-saving food and aid to Palestinians. The movement stressed that the protection of civilians must be a global priority and that the failure to act now will only deepen the unfolding tragedy.
This call comes amid mounting international outrage over the growing number of Palestinians who have died from starvation or have been shot while attempting to receive aid. Numerous reports from humanitarian observers have described distribution sites, particularly those managed by the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” which operates with U.S. and Israeli backing, as “death traps,” where desperate civilians are gunned down or crushed in stampedes due to the lack of organized and safe delivery mechanisms.
With the crisis escalating by the hour, Hamas is urging the world not to remain silent. “This is the time for global conscience to rise,” the statement concluded. “Gaza cannot wait.”
