GazaHerald – At least 24 Palestinians were killed on Saturday, including 13 aid seekers, as Israeli forces struck residential homes, tent camps for displaced families, and crowds gathered near aid distribution points across the Gaza Strip.
Hospitals and local sources reported a wave of Israeli attacks beginning at dawn and continuing through the day, leaving civilians dead in nearly every part of the besieged enclave.
In central Gaza, Israeli airstrikes hit the town of Al-Zawayda twice, killing one person in the first strike and five more in a second that leveled an apartment building, according to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
Nearby in Deir al-Balah, four members of the Al-Qarnawi family were killed and several others wounded when their home was bombed by Israeli aircraft.
In Gaza City, a young man died in a strike on a home in the Yarmouk area of the Al-Daraj neighborhood.
Twelve Palestinians were also killed overnight near the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” aid center along the Israeli-controlled Netzarim corridor while attempting to access desperately needed food aid.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that more than 90 people were wounded in the Nabulsi area, southwest of Gaza City, when Israeli forces opened fire on starving civilians waiting for aid trucks. The wounded were transferred to Al-Quds Hospital.
In southern Gaza, Israeli drone fire struck a tent camp for displaced people west of Khan Yunis, killing three and injuring others, according to Nasser Hospital.
Another young man was killed and 25 others injured by Israeli fire near an aid center north of Rafah.
Saturday’s deadly attacks followed one of the bloodiest days in weeks. At least 106 Palestinians were killed by Israeli strikes and army fire on Friday, including 49 aid workers, the Gaza Ministry of Health said. Another 554 were injured.
The ministry said many of those victims were hit while gathered near so-called humanitarian distribution points, areas that have come under repeated attack since Israel began tightly controlling aid access.
Since May 27, when Israel shifted to a militarized model of aid control centered around the U.S.-backed “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” 1,383 Palestinians have been killed and more than 9,200 wounded in or near aid zones. Forty-five people remain missing.
The UN has condemned this model as a tool of coercion that weaponizes hunger and exposes civilians to lethal force under the guise of relief.
According to the Health Ministry, Israel’s ongoing assault, widely described as a genocide, has killed at least 60,332 Palestinians and wounded 147,643 since October 7, 2023. Over 10,000 people remain missing beneath the rubble.
Since Israel violated the March 18 ceasefire, 9,163 people have been killed and 35,602 injured in renewed operations.
